On the Halls of Olympus. . .

Hard to believe we are back to Banquet again . . banquet, for those of your who are new here, is Rift Valley Academy’s version of prom. But instead of just a theme, the space has a complete transformation based on a secret theme. This year, it was Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief which as Annabelle’s idea, voted on by her classmates, and then brought to life.

Guests walked through Camp Half Blood with sword fights and archery and then entered an elevator complete with a 6 foot screen that took you to the top of the Empire State Building and into the Halls of Mt Olympus. Underclassmen had been covered in chalk paint to resemble Greek statues, there were stations to make arm bands and necklaces with beads from the books. . .

We helped with boutonnieres and corsages this year (90 of each) so were not as involved in the transformation of the space or the food, but it was another year of magic created by the junior class and another RVA milestone in the books for us. 

Junior Banquet is even more nostalgic now, because we know that the next twelve months will carry a lot of lasts and milestones as Annabelle enters her senior year, but for now we will stay in this moment and appreciate all that has carried us to this moment – so here is our stunning junior, a glimpse into her world, and the transformation from this year’s banquet. . .
