on speaking as a family. . .
Last month David and I were invited to speak at the Samaritan’s Purse Conference along with Dr. Chege Macharia – the CEO of Kijabe Hospital, so we all flew to America for a 6 day whirlwind trip.
I talked about Medical Education, David liaised with so many partners that help the hospital with equipment and funding, and then we had the amazing opportunity to speak as a family about our 11 years in Kijabe. Madeline and Annabelle took 3 of the 11 things we learned in 11 years, and interjected intermittently as we spoke. We we finished, the questions did not come to David and I – they came to the girls. . .
It was an incredible gift to watch them to describe their lives – both as ordinary and extraordinary. To talk of how God has met them and what He is calling them to. They spoke with poise, and humor and assurance. Definitely a proud Mom and Dad moment.
At the end of the conference, we were given an incredible gift of a whirlwind day at Disney with one of our long term short termers in Kijabe – Rita Miranda who has become an incredible friend in her many trips to the hospital since we did our first one together so many years ago in 2013.
So here is a conglomeration of pictures – of networking, of storytelling, of laughter, of watching the women our girls have become. . .
