on return to the Aberdares. . .
When people think of Kenya, they often think of Safari and the Maasai Mara – but I think one of the most beautiful, unique places is probably the Aberdares. It is full of winding paths through aboriginal forests, surprise encounters with elephants ambling through the forest, beautiful rock formations, and some of the most unique flora you have ever seen. . .it was the first place we went 9 years ago when we left Kijabe and remains one of my favorites.
We escaped there last month with the Nguyen’s over fall break, and (other than some impressive sunburns), had a perfect weekend watching elephants, exploring Satima and Dragon’s Teeth and hiking to the second highest peak in Kenya.
