on celebration. . .
At the beginning of the month we made a whirlwind trip to the West Coast to celebrate Adam Davis’s wedding to Diana. If you have been here a long time, you’ll remember that 5 years ago, Adam was diagnosed with a severe dilated cardiomyopathy that took his family back to America from Kijabe for over 2 years. . .I wrote about it in a post called “on grief. . .“.
By some true miracle, he has gotten progressively better, back to riding mountain bikes on crazy trails, getting ready to graduate from college, and now married. We have watched him grow up – from the 11 year old that greeted us with his enthusiasm when we moved to Kijabe to the incredible man he is today.
It was a privilege to photograph his wedding and be part of the behind the scenes crew. . . And more than that, it was wonderful to stand with some of our best friends, pray and celebrate with them, to be part of and to see their world in even more detail . .
We realized Diana and Adam are the most similar to us than anyone’s wedding we have photographed in a long time – in life stage at marriage, in temperament, in outlook – it was amazing to get a glimpse of the beautiful life he and Diana are building and look back at where we were 20 years ago.
Here are some of our favorite photos from the day. . .and a few pictures of us behind the scenes. . .
